PAUSD Secondary School Teachers -

Please join us on June 3rd and 4th for two days of engaging, professional learning that will address achieving equity through the Common Core and Technology. The depth and breadth of the Common Core standards ask that as teachers we support the growth of literacy skills, critical thinking and problem-solving. This conference is an opportunity for us to connect with colleagues around the district, and to learn from each other’s efforts. Through collaboration, and across the content areas, teachers will engage in workshops that help to strengthen shared knowledge of a wide variety of topics related to our conference themes.

  • Formative and Performance Assessment

  • Instructional Strategies for all students especially the under-performing student

  • Technology to transform learning experiences

PAUSD is transforming its professional development model:

more choices, more collaboration, teacher leadership.

Be part of the innovation!

Using the Conference to meet the Professional Learning Expectation

  • Learning from peers is a great way to strengthen teacher networks, gain from other’s knowledge and experiences and be inspired by the great work PAUSD teachers do every day in support of student learning.

  • Attendance at the Secondary Conference can be used to work toward the professional learning expectation as long as you attend one or both days entirely. One of the goals of this conference is to support the growth of our intradistrict learning community, so we highly recommend you attend both days.

  • The EdCamp-style sessions on June 4 will provide you with an opportunity to follow your own interests and network with peers in an "unconference" format. The content of these sessions will be determined by conference attendees on the day of the conference, allowing you to help shape the experience and find colleagues who share your learning goals and interests. Here's more information on the EdCamp concept.

  • If you prefer to attend only one day see the list below to calculate your hours. Record your hours on the Professional Learning Stipend form (on BOB under the Prof. Dev. tab) and obtain a signature at the registration table. You may document up to 11 hours for attending.

  • See conference hours below (note that one hour for lunch is not included as professional learning time).

               June 3: 6 hours (8:30-3:30)

               June 4: 5 hours (9:00-3:00)
